6xW Ltd completes an SBRI innovation development award to increase direct nursing care time by 10% with a Tablet-based Patient Assessment and Observation platform.
Brighton, East Sussex, November 7, 2016– 6xW Ltd has completed the innovation contract awarded by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) in conjunction with Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) and Innovate UK to build a commercially ready mobile patient assessment and observation platform that will enable nurses to spend an additional 10% more time with their patients. This was achieved by developing a tablet-based solution for digital data capture and automation of administrative processes, that views, accesses and updates all relevant patient data. Effectively, digitizing paper-based processes of a Pediatric ward, thereby, increasing direct patient care time.

The development that will be branded as ‘Llogic’ will help to increase patient safety and improve outcome with functionalities to augment processes, reduce risk, avoid repetitious and duplicate data handling and automate key activities. Key focus had been on structuring information flow, recording of assessment and observation data and automating alerts, tasks and calculating key values. The application design shall allow access to the many NHS back office systems.
